The Autumn Industry Day at the Moller Institute was a seamless success from start to finish. The day started with a welcome and updates by FIBE3 CDT Head, Prof Abir Al-Tabbaa followed by an insightful update on the Unlocking Net Zero Roadmap by Prof Julian Allwood. Cohort 2, who began their MRes + PhD journey in October, kicked things off with dynamic short presentations to introduce themselves. This was followed by an interactive discussion on the CDT’s wider training opportunities and industry engagement. After a lively networking lunch, Cohort 1 took the stage to showcase the outcomes of their MRes projects and share how these are evolving into exciting PhD research.
For our doctoral students, the Autumn Industry Day was buzzing with opportunities - networking with industry leaders, forging strategic collaborations, and gaining real-world insights into emerging industry trends to apply to their research. These interactions opened doors to explore internships, sharpened skills in communication and teamwork, and to discover career pathways beyond academia.
