Kristen Guida is the Head of Strategy, Prevention and Community Resilience at the Greater London Authority. Kristen gave a very intersting presentation on London's approach to identifying and understanding its climate risks, and the recent establishment of a new London Resilience Unit to help manage those challenges. Kristen talked through some of the specific risks in the context of infrastructure in London, with examples and impacts of recent challenging climate events London has experienced. She explained how the unit approaches systems thinking and connectivity – not just in principle, but in practice. Kristen outlined some of the current strategies employed by the GLA such as infrastructure and climate risk mapping and tools used to identify interdependencies and consequences of infrastructure disruption.
