We are excited to announce the launch of our new MRes Course Module 1 course which features FIBE3 CDT partners in industry and government as guest lecturers. These expert consultants in the field of Net Zero will share their considerable knowledge and experience in industry through case studies of major infrastructure initiatives of the engineers leading, designing, building and operating the infrastructure.
The very first FIBE3 CM1 lecture is lead by Tom Hughes from the National Infrastructure Commission on "Net Zero Infrastructure." In his presentation, Tom covered the Commission's mission, highlighted the UK’s energy transition challenges, and discussed the role of decarbonising electricity, heating, and transport in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. He also explored the critical interdependencies between energy, transport, and climate resilience, shedding light on the need for enabling policies and infrastructure transformation to achieve the UK’s net zero targets.
