EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Unlocking Net Zero (FIBE3 CDT)

Felix Baker is an MRes + PhD student at the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Unlocking Net Zero (FIBE3 CDT). His research interests include the reduction of emissions through energy retrofit of domestic properties, a key component of the UK’s Net-Zero aims. His project is supervised by Prof. Julian Allwood.

Felix completed his Master of Engineering at Kings College, University of Cambridge in 2024 with a specialisation in Civil Engineering. His PhD focuses on providing an objective system to analyse retrofit requirements, allowing project viability to be analysed on a cost against emissions perspective. This aims to minimise the knowledge gap between the construction industry and its consumers. He aims to use his background in hands-on construction to provide a readily implementable solution.
