About
Shashika Dharmawansha is currently pursuing an MRes + PhD at the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Unlocking Net Zero (FIBE3 CDT). He holds both a BSc and an MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa. His current research focuses on developing a comprehensive design methodology for both the in-plane and out-of-plane behaviour of cold-formed steel stud wall systems under lateral loading. In both cases, vertical gravity loads may either be present or absent. His project is supervised by Dr. Jurgen Becque.
Following the completion of his bachelor’s degree, he was offered a part-time position as a Research Assistant in the Structural Engineering Division at the University of Moratuwa in 2024, while pursuing his master’s. During this period, he contributed to projects involving experimental investigations, numerical modelling, and data-driven approaches in structural engineering.
